LAKESIDE

COMMUNITY COMPOST BIN

At the end of the allotments (where the green shed used to be and the community orchard) once full the Witney Town Council will come and munch it up. A new bin will be required any offers of building it are welcome. (Please no pernicious weeds)
Contractors to start the installation of the new fence along the right hand side of the allotments from the entrance gates up to the top right hand corner by Emma’s Dyke alongside the public footpath. There should be no affect on the allotment holders during these works as all the work is being carried out from outside the allotment boundaries.

Lakeside is the largest of the three sites managed by Witney Allotment Association. 18 of the original 75 plots have been divided in two so far to leave 57 standard and 36 small gardens (as of 01/04/2012).

How to get there

From the Ducklington roundabout take the first turn after the Four Pillars Hotel onto Witney Road (towards Ducklington village). After 100m take the single track lane on the left. The secure entrance gate is 150m along the lane on the left.

The site

All standard sized gardens have their own parking space – though this is shared between two small gardens. Many gardens have a shed.

There are plans to have all locks change to keypads with codes by the end of 2018.

Water is provided on site and all tenants pay a share of the charges towards the end of the rent year.
