The Witney Allotment Association manages the public sites at Lakeside, Hailey Road, Newland and Windrush Place under the terms of a lease from Witney Town Council.
Current tenants automatically become members of the Association and are eligible to serve on its management committee. Officers are elected at a General Meeting (usually the AGM) of the Association.
The site reps check the condition of the Allotments in May, July and September informally known as ‘Weed Watches’. Plot holders whose allotments are in good heart will be considered for one of the WAA ‘best kept’ awards. Tenants whose plots are hungry for attention will be advised.
This website is primarily for current tenants and those who are on the waiting list for an allotment garden or who wish to add their names.
The Constitution and Rules of the Association can be viewed from the Formal Documents tab on this site or at the Town Hall.
The members voted in favour of an increase in the number of Officers to include:
Co-chair (Hailey Road, Newland and Windrush Place).
Co-chair (Lakeside)
WAA Secretary
Co Secretary
The Formal Documents will be updated prior to the AGM.
Any members wishing to offer themselves for election at the AGM are asked to write to the WAA Secretary at waa_secretary@outlook.com on or before 27th September 2024. (This date may be changed if the AGM is not held in October)
THERE ARE NO PLOTS AVAILABLE ON ANY SITES IN WITNEY FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE.
We have been overwhelmed with requests for plots and the waiting list for any site is very long. This includes WINDRUSH PLACE.

Draft audited WAA Accounts for 2023 are available and will be presented at the next AGM for approval.
Freeland Nurseries have now very kindly agreed to accept our discount cards and to provide 10% discount on plants only from 1st May. Please let them know at the till before your items go through that you will be using the card and claiming the discount on the plants. It can get very confusing and difficult otherwise!
Charlbury, Yarnton and Cassington remain happy to do so too. We’ll keep you posted if the situation changes.
Newland is the smallest of the sites managed by the Witney Allotment Association. The site lies just north of Newland Road between Kingsfield Crescent.
This site has a slightly irregular boundary giving rise to some variation in plot sizes. The site lies between Farmers Close and Eastfield Road.
Lakeside is the largest of the three sites. All standard sized gardens have their own parking space – though this is shared between two small gardens.
Windrush Place is Witney’s newest Allotment Site, situated at the Eastern entrance to the new Windrush Place housing development.
