Welcome to Witney Allotment Asscoiation

The Witney allotment association was formed in 2012 to manage the allotment provision for people living in the town of Witney. It is a member led Association with over 230 plots on four sites across the town, 2 on the west of the town on Hailey Road and Newland , and two on the east at Windrush Place and Lakeside on the edge of Ducklington. Each site has a different profile, but all contain a mix of full and half plots for hire. Tenants automatically become members of the Association on signing the lease.

Day to day management of these is delegated to 2 site committees made up of volunteers elected at an annual general meeting and members are encouraged to play as full a part as they can in the wider management of the association, as well as in the community in which they hold their allotment. Key decisions and annual elections for the Committees take place at an annual general meeting usually held in late March. A committee of management, made up of officers from the site committees oversees whole associations issues.

For more information on these see:

  • The Formal documents page for constitution, tenancy terms and agreement and formal policies, all of which outline the rights and responsibilities of the committees and members respectively
  • Site descriptions pages for details on the profile of each site. Click ‘Sites’ in the menu bar or follow the links below.
  • Committee pages for information on current members of the Committee, their email contact address and minutes of past meetings, including AGMs.
PLOT AVAILABILITY

We have been overwhelmed with requests for plots and the waiting list for any site is very long.

If you are interested in applying for an allotment, please go to the waiting list page to access the relevant form. Demand for plots continues to be high, but waiting list times may vary according to the site chosen , and selecting “all sites” is likely to result in a shorter waiting time. Please note membership of the association is restricted to those living within the boundary of Witney. Given the demand for plots, the WTC requires that members who subsequently move out of Witney will no longer be eligible to continue their tenancy.
